shoujiru:
He realized he’d spaced out when the stranger pointed it out, because of this he laughed shortly and seemed embarrassed. “That is very kind of you. Thank you, Akari,” he accepted her considerate gesture with a polite bow of his head. “And you are absolutely right. Sometimes there’s no better stress relief than cold beer,” he agreed with her as he took the glass, mirroring her action and taking a sip. A long sip. Followed by a satisfied sigh. “Yep, that’s good,” he grinned as he sat back on the couch. “Oh .. I’m Shoji, by the way. Where are my manners?” He sat up more straight while finally introducing himself.
“Shoji-kun,” she repeated, giving him a little nod with her head. “So what are you doing here tonight? You don’t quite… seem to fit into the crowd, if I can say it like that.” The crowd, which mostly meant young, wasted people looking for a way to forget about their usual lives for a night or simply for a partner to not be alone tonight. Shoji didn’t look like either applied to him, nor did he fit into the crowd of the crazy ones, looking for their fancy pills or whatever else they were craving. It was what had raised Akari’s interest in the first place, once she had noticed him he had stuck out like a sore thumb to her. Not necessarily in a bad way, she was determined to find out about that over the course of the night.
