"My point, Lucius, is that you can bring up debt relief to the Senate all you'd like, but who's going to approve it? Do you remember what happened to the Gracchi brothers for the same thing? Both killed by angry mobs! As much as you irritate me, I don't want that to be your fate. We would have to come to some kind of compromise, which you know is nearly impossible. There's too many--mmf!"
Cicero lets out an indignant noise as Catilina slaps his hand over his mouth. How rude! Cicero narrows his eyes and lets out a huff through his nose before grabbing Catilina's hand and pulling it off. "There are better ways to get me to stop talking. My point still stands, even if you don't want to listen to me. It's better if you have a plan already, instead of letting everyone argue..."
He trails off and sighs, dragging a hand down his face. Co-consuls with Catilina, of all people. If it was Hybrida, he wouldn't have to argue like this. Then again, Hybrida isn't sober enough to form a coherent thought majority of the time. "Debt relief, land reform...it'll send some of those older senators into shock. It'll never pass. Just think logically, won't you?"
