Mikaela’s eyes had widened in fear when he arrived in Kurashi’s room that afternoon to find it empty. Seeing the open window, he looked down, attempting to look past the trees to the ground, but even with his special vision, the man was nowhere in sight. There was a burning feeling in his chest as he frantically searched the room, only for his head to snap up when he heard the shapeshifter enter the room. “He what? Never mind, we need to get there as quickly as possible. Take me to him.”
Before Hikari even landed on the ground, Mikaela was assaulted by the heavy smell of blood. He didn’t have any that day, and a decent amount being spilled nearly made him attack Kurashi as he hopped down. He grasped his burning throat and coughed a few times as he desperately struggled to stay in control.
Luckily, the sight of his injured lover helped him focus. “K-Kurashi, you idiot...” He moved the man gently into his arms, with shaky hands both from his emotional and physical distress. “I told you to stay in the mansion, where you’ll be safe. With all this blood, it’s a wonder you haven’t attracted any vampires.“ He coughed a few more times. “Come on, we need to get you back to the mansion. We have a servant that specializes in human wounds. You’ll be okay, so don’t give up.” A few tears fell from his eyes. “I can make you happy, so don’t do reckless things like try to run away.”
Mikaela looked over at Hikari. “Quickly, change back into the flying creature so we can get back before he loses more blood.”
