After high school, Sherry broke up with Lyon because "I'm studying abroad and I don't want to put you in a long distance relationship."
Although he would rather at least try then let go of her---he let her go. The last thing he wanted was to get in her way. After that, he went to University on a full ride for baseball and from there he soared both academically and sports-wise. He's still best friends with Minerva of course, and during this time they would use skype to call or chat with each other at least three times a week, unless there was a very busy schedule that week.
He became captain of his college team in his third year of college, and the AAA league was looking at him then, but that didn't mean he turned his back in his studied. He was majoring in sport physiology, as in what makes the player tick, and also minoring in journalism and french language.
It was in that French class where he met Lilyana Collins, an aspiring singer with a very strong voice. She was minoring in french while majoring in the art specifically for vocal and piano. As they graduated and Lyon gets signed to a AAA team, he keeps in touch with Lilyana as they go through their careers, to the point where they are close friends and meet up a lot.
He doesn't date much because he hates feeling vulnerable, and doesn't want to feel the way he did after Sherry again. (He sometimes thinks about her, even when all is said and done). But there are one night stands here and there (he is a growing male!) but no serious relationships.
He does go home for holidays and the such, and his relationship with his step-family is much better now.
During this time, at the eventual marriage of Minerva and Rogue, Lyon would be Mini's (man)maid of honor.And yes, she made him wear a dress for the ceremony, but he manages to change into a suit for the reception. He would also be so happy for his best friend and omg. His date was Lilyana, who is a semi-popular singer at the time. (And they do the do, but both agree to not let it get further)
Lyon's career kicks off when he gets first pick draft to the underdog Zinnia Snakes---but once after his signing they win the World Series and soon become a regular contender for the cup.
He asks Lilyana out during his first year, and they both travel a lot but when they see each-other it feels like there was no time at all passed. Turns out, Lilyana had been waiting for him to step up for a while, and he honestly loves her a lot. Two years of dating and he proposes to her~
The wedding was a private event, but it was all over gossip magazines because of Lilyana's fame and Lyon's own fame. His best (wo)man was Minerva, which surprised no one but Gray. The wedding was great, as was the reception and the honeymoon happened in a more tropical place before Spring training started.
The marriage only lasted five years, and no matter how much they loved each other, Lyon could only open himself up so much. He was still guarded after all these years, and it was unfair to Lilyana, who wanted and frankly deserved more. They were both always faithful to each other and it was an amicable divorce; so no one crushed the other or anything.
The only song written about the divorce would be this one which actually became a number one hit.
Still in the game, and still playing for the Snakes and making a lot of money and good plays, Lyon also does journalism for Sports and what not on the off season. He also goes back home to see family and what not. He also visits Minerva because hey that's his bestie right there and if she is at work, he may watch----
He sometimes feels content with life, but there is something he's felt his whole life to remind him he's not.
Loneliness.
"Ugh..." Sora groaned leaning back in her chair, feet on the table. The cafeteria was so empty after school today. It wasn't normally though. And for once all her friends weren't there either. Nico was helping Abby find one of her earrings, Amina was making up a test, and Darius and Sara were God knows where.
She sighed, figuring since she was alone anyways there was no point i being quiet. "You think you beat me, you better think again~" She started singing, just loud enough to carry lightly.
