The early hours wore her down before she could even enter the other side of the campus. Sluggish, she ensured she had time to graze her way across campus and, in the least, attend the lecture. It had become an easy class for her, despite her hellish mornings, and the proctor hardly cared if she took a snooze as long as she stuck to the back and passed the next test. She had drowned herself in coffee, and it had done nothing more than increase her heart rate and leave her jittery and with still-burning eyes. A redbull was stuffed into the pocket of her I Woke Up Like This sweat pants, just in case. So bleary, she had completely missed the smaller girl crossing her path, and she paid for it in hot liquid drenching her front. Though her own coffee had done nothing to wake her up, the scalding liquid did, and she barked out a yell, mostly in surprise, partly in pain. Pain itself was an abstract concept with how absolutely dead and dull her mind felt.
“What the FUCK?” She groaned, looking down at her open flannel and stark white shirt beneath it. She looked at the other with a fire in her eyes that no college student should ever have so early, on so little sleep. “Can’t you… There’s a whole god damn courtyard!” She groaned again, loud and haggard, silently swearing to herself that if the other had been familiar to her, she would have honored the mistake with a punch.
“I’m almost late for class and you just… You asshole.”
