The Prince’s Backstory
Michael Caasi was, to no surprise, a rebellious prince. He despises his parents and makes sure to only play along to their plans as little as possible. This he shows through escaping from the palace when no one is around to see or hear. Whether he escapes to his self-build safe haven or the nearest high-class bar is hard to say. But one thing is certain. His rebellious habits and tendencies is what his parents use as an excuse to punish and abuse the young prince.
In Mic's eyes it often appears unjustified. Often there'll be punishment for no obvious reason. This is due to the Mark of the Wolf he carries, an old long-forgotten mark the Caasi family inherited. Something the young prince's parents regard as disgusting.
But back to Michael. Especially throughout the his teen years the habits became more and more prominent. Eventually his parents had enough and assigned a personal guard to Mic. Aranaies Williams was a stuck-up, down-to-earth, loyal and law-abiding guard. The polar opposite to the prince. The king and queen hoped this will brush off on their son and that Naies will set him straight. Mic was displeased, even downright angry at this development and continued on like before. The guard was nothing but a great annoyance to him.
Anger building up eventually caused Mic to decide he had enough and ran to his little hidden opening in the woods. Naies, being dutiful as he is, of course followed. To witness an uncommon sight. A wolf. Specifically Mic hugging the wolf. This might be the first time the prince has shown a softer side of himself.
Aranaies, ready to draw his sword, only gets an angry look from the prince who tells him to not even dare draw the sword. Michael goes on to talk about how this is the only good thing he's ever had. If he ever were to loose it he wouldn't know what to do. So he makes Naies promise to not tell by a pinky promise. It was... well... quite awkward for both of them. Time passes and things aren’t as tense between the prince and his guard as they used to be. Still not relaxed but better. Aranaies however still deals with the prince’s whining and pissiness, thinking he has no reason to be this way. To him the punishment often seems justified as he himself hasn’t known it any different way. But eventually he’ll learn to question the methodes of the king and queen. After a particularly hard punishment of the prince Naies starts questioning the ruling pair. Again through Mic’s whining he learns that it’s not uncommon for the prince to get punished without any reason. Being at his side constantly he knows when the prince disobeyed. Knowing that this time Michael behaved as his parents wanted to, the guard is met with inner turmoil. The prince, angry again, storms off to his little clearing in the woods. To only find it destroyed and his wolfy friend killed. Shaking with anger as he’s falling to his knees upon this horrible sight. With a mixture of anger, sadness, frustration and confusion he runs. Away from the castle, unaware of his surroundings. This poses as the perfect opportunity for the three revolutionaries, Kettu, Cavoc and Magic, to strike. Having seen past the Caasi’s propaganda and lies and having lived through their unfair methodes, they want change. And this change will happen with the help of the prince. The prince, now unconscious, gets dragged off by the revolutionaries. Hearing about this, his personal guard, Aranaies, sets on a quest to find the young prince no matter what the consequences might be.
