Patroklos does not know how he is still alive.
It took a few days for the numbness to leave his legs, but all that did was leave agony in its place. The wound in his shoulder screams. All he can do is think about Achilles and how he will eventually come for him. Patroklos knows his life is valuable, that he's certainly nothing more than a bargaining chip. He doesn't know what god is cruel enough to keep him living when he can hardly walk or even think. Will he die as soon as he's returned? Or did he somehow manage to defy the will of the fates, and this is his punishment?
He doesn't know. He doesn't have the energy to think too hard on it. As he sits there in his cell, he laments his own stupidity. If only I had stayed on the beach, then I wouldn't be in this damn mess.
His head lifts when he hears the door open, and he squints. "Hello?" he quietly calls out, surprised by how hoarse his own voice sounds. "Who is it?" He's only spoken with Hektor once, and he really thinks that's enough, but he's not entirely sure who else would be curious enough to lay eyes on Achilles' dearest companion.
