Lena looked around, puffing her cheeks as she tried her hardest not to get mad. How could they even get lost in the first place…and there was that darn rock again! She could have sworn someone drew a face on it though! The sheer mockery!

“…Yes indeed and I hate it! I hereby declare…that it’s all your fault. ”

Well thanks Lena. How helpful…

“My apologies, miss Lena, I merely trusted your intuition since you’re more familiar around this area.” Perhaps he should’ve helped her out instead of leaving her on her own devices. “But let’s calm ourselves down first, you just mentioned that rock is the same you saw back then, correct? I’m sure there must be a pattern when choosing one of these paths.” The mage replied as he was examining the area around them.

Being around halfway from the nearest town, Reni set himself a camp for the night. Shortly after, he made a few meat skewers on a bonfire, the smell of the roasting meat was quite mouthwatering. 

Although he then heard sudden rustles from the nearby bushes which the mage reached for his sword, gazing towards the source. “Who’s there?” He raised his voice a bit, hoping it wasn’t a threat.

“It is strange isn’t it?” Midori replied. She was helping investigate an incident that happened in Kugane involving stolen merchandise but something didn’t quite make sense in the story they were given on how it was stolen. Normally Midori didn’t go snooping into such investigations but after some talking with Reni, she decided she wanted to help him.

This investigation was being published as a desperate seek of help, and they promised to reward a good amount if anyone could recover their stolen goods. An amount like this could definitely aid his funds during the travels.

There was one major problem, however, while he didn’t mind to aid them, Reni wasn’t familiar with the area since he recently arrived here. Luckily there was a female Au Ra who agreed to assist him for that matter.

“No tracks, nor footsteps, not even a single clue...” The mage crossed his arms. Kugane seemed like a well populated area, so he would assume there would be at least some level of security being present. “How about you, Midori, do you have anything in mind?”

Reni’s magic and skills.

Reni can be essentially considered as a red mage, having both offensive and healing magic which he covers most elements except Light and Darkness. While he is unable to cast the highest tier of magic, his elemental coverage makes up with it in terms of versatility. Aside his magic, another skill he possesses and will eventually master, is the elemental Brands which he can temporary enchant his sword or his ally’s weapon with a specific element.

Fireball -> Eruption -> Explosion (fire spell)

Aqua Edge -> Splash -> Blessed Drops (water spell)

Wind Blade -> Turbulence -> Cyclone (wind spell)

Icicle -> Freeze Lancer -> Absolute (ice spell)

Tetra Spell (a chain arte consisting of four novice elemental spells at once)

First Aid -> Heal -> Cure (spell that restores HP to an ally)

Antidote -> Esuna (first spell one cures an ally from Poison, second cures an ally from all ailments)

Firebrand / Waterbrand / Thunderbrand / Earthbrand / Windbrand / Icebrand (an arte that temporary gain an ally a chosen element to their attacks)
