In a Rush
“Gotta hurry...gotta hurry.” Youngjae repeated those words to himself as he scurried down the sidewalk. He’s been running for the past five minutes and he was already out of breath, sweat beading on his forehead and rolling down his temple. Once again he was running late due to pressing the snooze button so many times on his alarm. When he finally got the energy to pull himself from the cozy cocoon of his warm sheets, he only had half an hour to get dressed and get to campus for his mid-morning class.
It wouldn’t have been such a big deal seeing as usually every other day Youngjae is rushing to class, barely making it on time. However today, the subway had a 10 minute delay, giving the young brunet less than ten minutes to get to class. Hence why he was rushing down the sidewalk, not even pausing to apologize to the other pedestrians he bumped into. He had to just another block to go to reach campus and Youngjae was starting to believe he would make it. After all if he’s late, the professor will lock him out of the class and it will be another mark on his attendance.
f course just as Youngjae was about to make a sigh of relief, he ran on into another person, the impact so jarring that he staggered back a couple of steps. The books Youngjae was holder fell onto the ground, the various papers he had in them scattering on the pavement. “AH!” He cried out, bending down to quickly grab at the papers before the wind carried them away. He was so focused on not loosing his work that he almost forgot about the person he bumped into until he was trying to pick up a paper that was lying under their shoe. Youngjae snapped his head up, eyes wide.
“Ah…” He began nervously, a little frazzled from rushing around. “Sorry could you...maybe move your foot just a bit?”
