the fall happens slowly, and then all at once.

it starts with sylas, as so much does, and a bite given as a threat turning into so much more. he manages to hide it for a while, using his skills at stealth and deception to pretend that everything’s okay. it isn’t a quick turn, not like he would’ve expected, but then sunlight was making him uncomfortable, and he started craving things he had never wanted before. his temper flares faster, and his movements are even quicker. but nothing he can’t hide from his friends. nothing he can’t pretend is unimportant, especially when faced with dragons attacking.

and then they get to the tomb, and his sister is killed. the deal is made without a second thought, hands gripping vex’s corpse tightly as he glares angrily at the goddess before him. take me instead, you raven bitch, he says, sharpened fangs revealing themselves as he snarls up at her. and she does, taking his life and bringing him back as something... else.
