❛ I know you can do this. I know you can hear me. Stay with me. Listen to my voice. ❜
He didn’t want to. He did hear it. But he didn’t want to be pulled back.
Violently he shook his head no, skeletal hands clasped over his skull as if to draw out the very voice speaking to him. Or, perhaps, it was to keep himself together.
He didn’t know what happened. Things weren’t fine, but they weren’t like this. Babyteeth knew his mental state wasn’t stable. It didn’t take a genuis to realize that. Perhaps he should of taken the signs: the lapses in memory; disoriented dreams; lack of presence of time and surroundings.
Now none of it mattered. What stability his mind withheld was now lost. Slipping. Slipping slipping slipping.
“hehehhheheheHEHEHEH!”
Was that laughter his..? It had to be. Fear was pounding in his chest like a frantic heartbeat he didn’t have as his mind swam and broke like an inner storm that was only getting bigger. He wasn’t sure if he had his eyes opened or closed. Too many flashes, visions, kept him blind by his inner eye. And still he laughed. He laughed in disbelief. This had to be a trick. A minor misconception. Surely this wasn’t happening to him right now. Not now.
And he laughed from that fear. He laughed because it grew and grew in his chest and he needed to release it. Somehow.
He needed it to stop.
