In the few seconds that Artorias' head was under the pond's cool waters, he began to accept fate. But he felt something pushing towards his body towards the surface. He felt the air brush against his face, along with the tickle of fabric against his lips.
He bit down.
The Vaporeon landed upon the wooden planks of the bridge, the up-swell behind him dissipating into a thin mist that partially engulfed the gazebo. There was an uneasy feeling as the Vaporeon approached closer, like a cold wind emanated from his very presence. The water beneath him erupted with the sound of another up-swell, lifting Artorias higher and higher above the water.
"I could not imagine what would happen if The Furred Dragon of Dead Oak died in such a horrid manner... It is unbecoming of a hero."
The water sank back down, pulling the dog back below the surface. After a moment, there was a splash - a wave smashed into the gazebo's bridge with a soaked Artorias carried within.
"Well, at least he is alive."
