[waits for Alecto at the lounge]
-waits in the carpark for Alecto, smiling as wide as she can manage without looking like she's faking it when jocks and other cheerleaders come up and applaud her for "putting that geek in his place"-
Demon Dance
It was nothing like he'd seen before: the lights that looked like they will never burn out, the linen that laid on the tables that had the scent of flowers and wine, the huge crystal chandelier that served as the beacon of decadence, the intricate masks, and the swirling colors of different garbs spinning in the dance floor. Just when he thought that he and Tiberius are overdressed, here comes everyone else bringing their masquerade game face on. Which is perfect. Blending in will help him with his plan.
He stood beside one of the pillars as he spied everyone while they just dance or drink their night away. Icarus is not really the party person. He'd rather stay in his room, to read or if he's lucky, spend his time outdoors to hunt wand cores. He just attended this one for two reasons: one is because this is his last year and two is because of her. Icarus chuckled to himself when he remembered the Yule Ball. He didn't plan on attending it as well. Although part of it was not deliberate since he injured himself in his last hunt but when he realized that it is his last Yule Ball, he decided to slip out of the infirmary. And who helped him? Her. Somehow she is connected to the balls he attended. Then again, she is included into his small group of friends so obviously, he will interact with her. Which is why he is bent on doing his plan. Friendship is too much to risk.
He glanced around the side of the dance floor, searching for a familiar form. Knowing her for quite sometime, he knew that she's not really one to indulge in such activities as much as the others do. Prude in nature, parties is not her cup of tea. So her presence in each one is a bit of a mystery to him. Maybe she's just looking out for her brother. Amycus' blatant habit of sleeping with lots of girls is not really an uncommon fact. If he is to be stereotyped in a yearbook, he'll probably be the class whore. So yeah, maybe Alecto was just looking out for him. After all, a place with uninhibited women and ecstatic ambiance? Amycus is in a field day.
A woman dressed in gold caught his attention when his eyes reached the other side of the dance floor. The way she stood up, her chin was up and her neck was stretched like a swan, with the way she held the wine glass in her delicate fingers are proof enough. It was her. Icarus made his way to her, wading through masked students with such grace that he almost looked like he was gliding. He then made his steps lighter and slower as he approached her from behind.
"Would you like to dance with a demon?" he whispered in her ear the moment he reached her.
