Ric refrained from a frustrated grumble as he walked through the dank halls of Mystic High. Two years and a few months (and deaths) later... here he was. And irritability was a guy-cover, anyway. Sort of. Alaric missed the place. Missed the kids. Missed being more than a freak of a goddamned vampire. But, hey, 'least there wasn't any grading in hunting. Silver linings...
There it was. Boiler room, basement, same thing, sorta. Ric twisted the handle, found it locked, and proceeded to break it with the smallest of mental shrugs. Not like school was the town's priority these days... eh, he could come by and fix it later if security wasn't getting any better, too. It was a bit of a trek from there, but find something freakish and Satanic, he did -- lo and behold, the whispered "Hellmouth," a supposed gate to Hell.
-- He wasn't that impressed. But he was definitely interested enough in the age of the thing that he missed the tell tale signs of somebody approaching...
