Duplicate Podfics
Ok so I am praying people actually see this, so if you feel inclined please pass it along :) To all Podficers:
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE check if someone else has already recorded the fic you’re recording, and if they have I am begging you to chose a different fic to record
Look I get it, I record podfics too- sometimes you read a story and you just want to narrate it with all your little gay heart. The thing is, podfics are an accessible medium for a lot of people who otherwise won’t get to experience the fics. There are such a limited number of accessible stories and it is absolutely crushing when you find the same story multiple times.
There are thousands of amazing stories that aren’t accessible. All that time, energy and passion that goes into recording a duplicate podfic could go into making more stories accessible
Thank you to ever single person who has ever made a podfic. I’m not exaggerating when I say they’ve helped save my life more than once. Happy narrating, and know that every new story you record is a bright bit of joy shared<3
