Hey. I’ve been meaning to send these out for a few days. Actually, I kinda wanted to send them to Dani and have her leave them in your trailer or wherever you were each day, but with having to fly around and having so much work, I never got round to do it.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what you said, what happened to us, how you felt, and all I can keep thinking is that I’ve been an asshole. Friendships don’t come out of nowhere, but if you don’t take proper care of them, all the work you put into them can go away so quickly, and I feel like I haven’t cared for you the way I should have. It sounds stupid, and sappy, but I feel like it’s a little something I just have to do. Keep them, throw them away, do whatever you want, but it’ll just ease my little troubled mind. So here goes nothing,
First, the thing you love most in the world. Bacon. It’s the thing that first brought us together, so:
You may not be a good cook, but I’ve always been determined to make a decent one out of you, so here’s not one but two cookbooks with nothing but yummy bacon recipes.
Then, something yummy for when you wanna crash by yourself or with Robbie,or even with me... Maybe? Some delicious movie snacks.
Next one’s got a bit of a kick, but there’s nothing a little bit of hot sauce can’t fix, right? On a nice burger or a good chicken salad, anything at all, there’s this that can make it all better and yummier with a little bacon aftertaste.
And last in the subject, it’s to patch up your bumps and scratches you may get while filming, since we know Speedy’s a super tough girl and may need a band-aid or two
And now, the sappy gifts. The ones who I hope can remind you that even after I’ve been a jerk, I still love you with all my heart and you’re still my best friend.
First, best friend bling. On these I thought you could put your trailer keys or something, I don’t know, but I’ll have the other one and it’ll just be a nice reminder that I’m always the piece that fits, I’ll always make anything fit for you. And then, you know, you always need a nice gold chain to make an outfit complete, so why not make it this one? I know it’s stupid, but it’ll just make me think of you when times are rough, and the same for you, to know that the other half of your heart will always be beating with the half you’ve got.
Second, outfits. Just two shirts that may make it fun to wear just a plain white T. You get the Be Fri one and of course, the burger, my little In N Out freak.
And finally, some random things.
One. I really liked this painting, I think it’s really minimal and I got one for my own place in New York. The words kinda say anything.
Two. It’s kinda silly, but sunshine... It’s me.
Three. Because you’re not someone’s best friend until you hate the same people.
Four. Because even if we’re not talking much, I know we’ve got a bunch of great pics together.
Five. I want you to keep this in Canada. It’s got New York for me, and Vancouver for me. Because you are my family, and when you love someone so much, distance is just a silly number.
I know they’re silly, and that material things don’t do anything to patch up what I’ve done to you, leaving you alone in Chicago and running away, then just point blanking you and just... I’m sorry for being a bad friend.
