*somehow, through means so completely unknown it may as well be just called magic, a letter finds its way to you. even stranger is the fact it bears the royal seal of Hallownest. should you decide to open the letter it shall read as follows;*
"To Whomever This Letter Finds,
You may not know me. I may not know you. But this is a call for aide all the same. I am Lurien the Watcher, humble servant to Hallownest Eternal and I... need help. Our King has recently been taken by the lord who rules over the accursed City of Steel and I am seeking fighters and support for the cause of bringing him home. I cannot promise your safety or even your life, but I ask all the same; will you offer your claws, your blade, your magic, your skills? yes i can pay...
If possible, if able, please send your response to the Watcher's Spire in Hallownest.
In Service Eternal, @lurienthewatcherofficial 🔷"
Dew reads over the letter again and again, hoping that he misread it. But no matter how many times he reads it, rereads it, and reads it again, the words never change.
They don't understand. Why him? Why did he receive this letter, from Lurien the Watcher of all people?
He must be desperate in order to send this out to random people.
Still, the City of Steel? No way in hell he's going back there. He can't. He won't.
...Let me put it this way. You claim to know what the Steelwyrm is like, you said so yourself.
Yeah, he read the stories about it.
So you know what would most likely happen should this fail. Hallownest, Pharloom, perhaps other kingdoms. All subjugated under its rule. And what of Scarlet?
That gives Dew pause. If Scarlet gets caught up in this.
He really does not want to go, but if it's the only way to ensure Scarlet doesn't die...
He writes a response letter to the Watcher's Spire saying that he'll join and then sends it along the mail trail, hoping it will eventually reach the original sender.
