{!!} – He hummed fluently, a pleasant sound, rounded and engaging like the gentle, nimble-fingered strum of a bass guitar. By the encouragement of her compliment, Henry blinked upwards from the counter at which he stood stirring several small, white sachets of pre-packaged sugar into his cup of take-away coffee, his dark chestnut eyes made to glisten beneath the golden lighting inside the warm & cosy autumnal atmosphere of the well-liked local coffee shop. A controlled hint of mischief sat comfortably within his charismatic smile as his lips parted in speech, his clean, manicured hands effortlessly securing the plastic lid to his cup without him having to look on account of him having frequented this establishment for quite some time, ❝Do you say that about every man who stands ahead of you in the queue for coffee or am I just special?❞ Henry leaned in a relaxed and unconcerned manner against the counter, wilfully ignorant to whether or not he was obstructing everyone else’s access to the rest of the additives. ❝I like the way you talk.❞ He tilted his head to the side, ❝Carry on.❞ Henry took a small, tentative sip of his coffee, his impatience for it to cool getting the better of him. It burned his tongue but he didn't mind. ❝I was going to take this home, but since we enjoy the sound of each other's voices so much, why don't you join me at a table and tell me a bit about yourself? Unless, you have somewhere else you need to be...?❞
