People in power didn’t hold a place of any great esteem in Mia’s heart. Renee had turned around in the end, but she would always remember him as the man who helped the Glades become a walled-off utopia while the rest of Star City fell to rot and ruin. And maybe, given the way everyone had ended up in town against their will, this town’s Mayor might prove to be a different breed; she wasn’t going to count on it.
She knew him on sight, though, and not just because of the less than subtle security that surrounded him - because she made it her business to know who had power. Mia wasn’t sure what event she’d stumbled across, some ribbon cutting ceremony for something or other, but she lingered in the crowd to take a chance to study Mayor Roy Mustang up close.
