☽ = wandering alone at night .
Bright lights flickered across the busy streets, painting the otherwise dull dirt in bright reds and oranges that seemed to only add to the overall tacky appearance of the district. Loud bells, and booming voices carried out over the meandering mobs. Thick hands breaking through the air, as they shouted at every single person that walked past their shop; words mixing together until they were just a singular blur to the general public. Mingling with the heavy stench of alcohol and sweat wafting out from their doors, the entire street was doused with a distracting odor that was enough to pry most curious eyes from the lavish buildings lining the dirt.
Potent enough to even drown out the intense scent of blood that lingered in the air, as brought his pale fingers to his lips. Nails coated in the crimson liquid that trailed upwards to his palms. His nose wrinkling in disgust, as his tongue slipped out over his finger tips. The strong, metallic taste making his throat dry, as his tongue curled back. Bloodied hands retreated from his mouth to brush through his light hair in growing frustration while his lips twisted into a firm line. The specs of red upon his otherwise smooth face smeared when he brought his arms down in an attempt to rub them off.
His teeth sank into his bottom lip, as he felt his stomach churn. He had never held the same passion for murder as his father, and lacked the steel-tipped resolve of his brother that made the act of killing easier for him. Instead, he swallowed the thick mass within his throat that threatened to climb up into his mouth for what must have been the tenth time that night while shoving himself onto somewhat shaky feet.
Sucking in a deep breath in an attempt to inhale the rancid odors of the red light district, he tried to calm the racing of his fleeting heart and the boiling of his stomach. He should have been used to it by now, but he wasn’t, and he never would be. Still, he tried to collect himself by watching the collection of bodies that wandered through the main street. The atmosphere here was always overwhelming, and it was easy to become caught up in the chaos of the area, especially for him. His senses were already greater than average, and added with the paranoia that always loomed over him, he was constantly on edge.
But he wasn’t a rash person, and when he heard footsteps echo within the alley, he willed himself to turn around. Quelling the rapid raging of his heart with a soft smile, and the eerie calmness that had been beaten into him, despite the fact that panic was consuming every inch of his internal being. “Did you get lost?” He asked, his tone settling easily, and not revealing the fear that raced through his mind.
