How many fics did you write this year?
18!(published) + 4 full drafts
How many words did you write this year?
84,236 (+62k of dissertation which i am very much counting and roughly 60k of things sitting in drafts)
Did you try anything new this year? (New fandom? New pairing? New language?)
arguably everything was new this year: arcane/jayvik and all of the bat shenanigans...but i did write a chapter of a fic that was written entirely as code and comments on code which was kinda wild
Did you participate in any fests/events during the year?
writing wise yes...though technically that will be out in 2026!
Which is the funniest fic you have written this year?
probably somewhere between we are never talking about this again (in which Jason does bring it up again...repeatedly) and miasma (which is funny to me personally but i am very unsure if it is funny to other people...)
Which is the angstiest fic you have written this year?
sooo very technically i think this title belongs to a thing in my drafts that only shan has seen but if we are going published it is probably caesura
Which is the steamiest fic you have written this year?
100% temporal parts...i was in such a state when i wrote it...but hm to the voyeurism of it all in retroreflector and dovetail (bc autofellatio...)
Which is your most valuable writing lesson learned this year?
that my strength lies in writing small vignettes and stringing them together into something more coherent for long form story telling. I wrote a lot of 100 word dabble this year as starting points for scenes and it really helped in clarifying what was needed and what was not.
What do you look forward to writing next year?
I am super excited to finish up writing do world eaters dream of electric stars. Feel like after the 4 months break i have a solid idea of where the last 3 chapters need to go. Also excited to work on the forever in the drafts fire nation religious practices world building fic and the accompanying religious text as my perpetual ongoing weird little project. For new things i have a a bunch of bat related things that need to get out of my drafts including some jason&bruce angst ft minhkhoa and some new plot bunnies that exist within the caesura (and other line breaks) continuity
