❝ awww, you’re blushing. ❞ @daisyquakes
“I am not.” He protested, even as he could feel the heat emanating from his cheeks and down his neck. He snatched it out of her hands in the blink of an eye, zooming to grab the damn book of poetry from where he had left it, carelessly, on the counter and zooming back to his spot with enough time to watch her hair fall back into place before turning it over in his hands as he willed his blush to settle and his cheeks to return to their normal coloring. When he had brought Daisy to the Legion house he thought it would help her decide it it was the right place for her, as well as an opportunity to simply spend time with someone he considered a friend. He supposed he should have expected a little teasing when he had been absent-minded enough to leave his things out and about. Brainy was usually too caught up in their own head to notice his things strewn about the kitchen, much less the insignificant scribbles he wrote in his books, but Daisy, apparently, was not.
“I don’t blush. That would be unbecoming of a Daxamite. I’m simply,” he paused, his head tilting from side to side with an unconvincing wince, “regulating my body temperature through my cheeks. It’s entirely voluntary and has nothing to do with anything else at all.”
