My favorite German words

Gedöns - Stuff or fuss

Examples:  

 „Mach doch nicht so'n Gedöns!“ - “Don't make such a fuss about it!”

“Räum jetzt erst mal das ganze Gedöns hier weg!” - “Put that stuff away!” 

Papperlappapp! - “Hogwash!” 

Firlefanz - frippery , rubbish, nonsense

Examples:

“Diesen Firlefanz sollten wir mal endlich entsorgen. “ - “We should throw this stupid stuff away!”

" Was er da vorgetragen hat, war alles nur Firlefanz.” - “What he said was only nonsense.”  

“Himmel, Arsch und Zwirn!” - literally: “Heaven, Ass and yarn!” Used to curse. Like when something goes wrong etc. For when a  simple “SHIT!” is simply not enough.

Rachsüchtig - literally “addicted to revenge” vengeful.. also a nightmare for English speaking people to pronounce
