The investigation isn’t going too well. What starts off as a straightforward case of double suicide careens into a double homicide that (after a visit from the Feds) might or might not be related to more deaths courtesy of a religious cult. It’s a disaster unfolding right on their doormat, and that means a whole lot of them are writing up overtime slips and possibly signing divorce papers. Ibiki’s face is impassive as he informs them of their assignments, but Tei can tell that the homicide supervisor is more pissed off about the current situation than he lets on.
It’s the way he grinds out the words. Like he wants to shove them down someone’s throat.
