1. Keaton used to spend the night at Nicky’s to avoid going home. At first, Nicky snuck Keaton in to avoid talking to her mom about it at all, but naturally her mom walked into her room and found Keaton laying in her bed while Nicky was brushing her teeth one time. Understandably, she flipped out a bit. Nicky confirmed the fact that she did not have a secret boyfriend because she was still very gay and her mom calmed down, allowing Keaton to stay so long as there “wasn’t any funny business”. Nicky’s dad was fine having Keaton stay over from the beginning and would make them breakfast and pack them lunches the next morning.
2. The first cigarette Nicky ever smoked she bummed off of Keaton. She had been really stressed out and upset about a bad grade she got on some test, she doesn’t even remember which one now but then it had been the end of the world, and she was trying really hard not to cry or get upset. Keaton saw this and offerred her the smoke as a way to calm her nerves. Nicky took it without hesitation and it was the first of many she’s bummed off of him over the years. For graduation, she bought him a pack (it was the first pack of cigarettes she ever personally bought) and promised she’d buy her own in the future and to return the favor of sharing with him.
