Jack rolled his eyes. “You think I’m your type? Yeah, okay.” Jack chuckled, shaking his head as he twirled his pen in his hand, trying to inspire himself to write something for the front page. He needed to write something, anything! He knew the only reason that he was still able to work for the Sun was because he was the son of the king of the World. They couldn’t fire him, or Daddy would have something to say about it, and Jack would be damned if people knew his father was the only reason for keeping his job.

"Jack!" Katherine leaped over the beds in the lodging house and ran full-tilt into her boyfriend in the doorway, full to bursting with Christmas spirit. She threw herself into Jack's arms and said, "C'mon, we's jus' finished the gift swap, and I's was just 'bout ta read ta the littler ones--" She broke off suddenly when she looked up and saw a sprig of mistletoe hanging above them. Katherine's mouth pressed into a line. "Race. O' course."

Jack burst out in laughter as she almost knocked him over with her excitement. “Aren’t you in the Christmas spirit, I see?” He smirked before noticing the mistletoe too. He chuckled, and looked back at her. “Well, you know the tradition.” He gently grabbed her chin, pressing their lips together lightly and kissing her tenderly.
