my issue with c!phil is that all his shitty actions & monologues dont feel. deliberate. it doesn’t seem like cc!phil wants to write a character who’s wrong, he’s writing a character and believing this some of this stuff himself which makes the hypocrisy and terrible actions more annoying than interesting. he’s tried making c!phil sympathetic but all he ends up doing is proving c!phil to be even worse. the writing feels less like “my character is this way because I want intentional conflict” and more “i firmly believe my character is in the right and don’t want to step aside and give him room to grow and learn.”
