HEYO it’s the teeth anon again! Anyways, the most likely reason for the teeth to be retractable is interesting. As a previous anon said, the presence of teeth helps to make complex sounds, as well as chew small food (frogs can be seen chewing) so they ARE helpful to have. But WHY then would they need to retract you ask? Sure it could be to swallow stuff better, but the more likely reason is to stay out of the way of their tongue! Think about it. When has a frog used their tongue and shown teeth?
Hang on, we see that Mrs Croaker wears dentures in Cracking Mrs Croaker. Does that mean that she just has like... holes in her gums where the dentures slot into? Like... there used to be teeth in those holes but they’re all gone?
Don't worry! The ducks in Ducktales also have retractable teeth!
