I just watched Kenobi and I'm all emo about my og star wars blorbo (no spoilers in case you haven't watched it, just vibes)

Can we take a moment and consider, younger cubi Din befriending the hermit who lives out in the Dune Sea? Din chased a bounty out that way once and wound up shocked into cooperation by the older man who suddenly just... Appeared out of a cave? And offered him a drink and a meal?? When Din was carrying a corpse back to his ship??? The whole thing was so confusing that Din just wound up agreeing out of instinct and wound up sharing a meal (with a quickly-constructed screen) before even realizing quite what's going on.

Obi-wan isn't familiar with cubi, he doesn't know exactly what's going on with Din, but he gets some sense through the force of what Din needs to survive (though he can't exactly tell Din, not without revealing how he knows). So obi-wan does his best to be attentive and affectionate with his new friend, and he's pleasantly surprised when Din comes back a couple months later, next time he's on Tattooine.

(he's less surprised when they fall into bed together, but obi-wan's an incorrigible flirt and Din's surprisingly receptive)

just saying: you realize din's like. college undergrad-mqybe grad student age at the point Kenobi is set? so probably they'd meet, Din'd stop by periodically, and maybe at some point he's planning to head out to see the crazy wizard but first he's desperately horny so he's just gonna pick up a rando before he heads out

but Crazy Ben is in town bc the Force poked him "grocery shopping" or shit and then voila: chance meeting, like:

and Din is so on edge and also exhausted and it would be nice to spend some "quality time" with someone he doesn't have to worry abt going for his buy'ce or the rest of his armor (previous occasions have shown Ben respects such things)

so yeah, then Din gets his first taste of being cared for. idk, Obi might be a soft dom? def very attentive. and sexy teachable moments 😆

Please consider with me: Boba, Fennec and Din deeply concerned when Paz comes home one day clearly distracted, scent distraught, so deep in some internal conflict he won't even touch them.

His bonding scar hasn't even finished healing yet, and then... this. They spent so much of the evening following his bond with Din emphasising their claim on Paz to rid the stink of that other from him, but now this???

...are you done making it hurt more?

why won't he touch them? does he at least let them reach out to comfort him? or does he flinch away, put distance between him and them?🥲💔💔💔

this would probably trigger the others into making more and more overt and dramatic gestures towards and around him...but would he allow it? 🤨🤔🥲

So I don't know if you've come any closer to deciding on who scent marks Paz and throws his mates into a frenzy but consider that his admirer isn't done after that initial encounter.

What if they've been listening to the rumours of discord among Boba Fett's pack, they've observed enough and inferred the rest (still falsely believing Paz is unbonded). They think it's such a shame this beautiful warrior specimen has clearly been overlooked.

They corner Paz shortly after the original scent marking and treat him so nicely with gifts of the finest new carbines off the market, cooing to him when he holds the new weapons in his hands, flattered and confused.

"You deserve fine things. You deserve... to be pampered."

Paz quickly sets his gift back on the table. An argument is on the tip of his tongue because even the suggestions feel blasphemous. The vode's existence is a utilitarian one. Any resource lavished on one is something that could have been spread among at least three.

That is, if he was still among the tribe.

His admirer presses on. "Don't you deserve to have your needs considered, too?"

Paz shrinks inward, repulsed at the mere suggestion. To even think about it makes his gut churn in shame. That was not his role. That was not the Way.

"Wouldn't it be nice... to be protected? Cared for the way you fight for these people?"

Paz begins to argue. He reaches for the easiest example to counter the suggestion he doesn't already benefit from those things... His voice cracks in his throat.

When was the last time?

Loyalty and solidarity... there must have been.

His admirer presses warm and firm along the right of his body and he's too stunned considering their words to stop the sympathetic arm that props on his shoulder, nor the hand encircling his wrist in comfort.

Their voice is hushed and warm. "When was the last time someone put it all on the line for you? Don't you deserve to be cherished?"

Paz's jaw tightens, trembling with the surprise of emotion that also brings the sting of hot tears to his eyes. He realises he's shaking his head not because he's agreeing but because these questions are absurd. The words make him ache, make him feel small and foolish and so, so vulnerable he can't stand it--

"Don't you deserve to be first for a change?"

And with that, Paz's heart falls through his stomach. His throat feels swollen shut when he swallows past the hot stone abruptly lodged there.

... First? What would that even look like?

Do Cubi Din’s mates taste different to him? Does he ever get a craving for one of them? Like he wakes up hungry for Boba, but he’s working in court. Din was taught to be pushy for his food though so he works his way between Boba’s legs, mouthing at his cock and waiting for him to stop entertaining the stuttering diplomat and satisfy Din’s craving.

the idea of ppl "tasting" different is really interesting, too. I think it's more like... Paz and Boba and Fennec and Cobb love Din in different ways, so the Vibes they put out have different "flavors"; if Din's craving devotion, he goes looking for Paz; if he wants to feel someone's pride in him, he finds Fennec to challenge him; if he's feeling like smug satisfaction and adoring greed, he bullies Boba's thighs wide around his shoulders and gets to work. and there's limitless variations, these are jsut examples i could think of.

so tl;dr yes, Cubi can have "cravings" for certain Vibes and Din is slowly learning he's allowed and encouraged to seek them out from his partners when he's hungry
