ƒew things caused a stir in Samuel’s emotions. The robotic man was well off enough to distance himself from emotions that even close bonds barely roused much of a response from him. Religion, however? Always caused a bit of a spark in his mind. The idea of a God seemed ludicrous early in his life, but now having studied and dedicated his life’s work to the energies that demons and HELL itself produced off, it gave his natural scientific approach towards life a little less wiggle room than he’d like.
The idea that--POSSIBLY--there was a slim chance he himself would have to acknowledge the existence of a God or Gods made him feel sour. .. More than sour. He felt sick over the idea. God, in it’s entirety was suppose to look out for it’s creations that devoted themselves to them. So what of everyone else? A selfish entity that wanted attention and gave promises of protection through false hope and forced, manipulated faith.
But whatever God could do, he could do better. He could BE that God, but without the heartless demands of forcing humanity cower and pray for him. Humanity needed it’s energy and he gave them a solution with such major sacrifices and not a single need for appraisal for it. Being acknowledged was nice, but the world needed someone willing to take and make sacrifices.
Sacrifices that allowed people like this piece-of-work carrying a giant cross around alive. Before he could even catch himself staring for this long, the man might have noticed. Words seemed like the best solution than playing stupid and pretending his attention wasn’t on something so blatantly obvious.
“ I take it you might have been asked this on several occasions... But if I may interrupt you to ask why carry it, I would appreciate your time and answer. ”
