xiao was always anxious when he found out that he had a tutoring appointment. he often wasn’t given one unless the other tutors were busy or sick because of his disabilities. usually student services let him do online appointments for students who needed editing on their papers rather than in person ones. he was lucky that the people their always planned ahead and explained to the person who signed up that xiao had disabilities and would be using the computer to talk to the other, but it still mad him nervous.

today it was last minute the tutor had gotten sick and called out and the center was scrambling to replace someone for all of the other tutor’s appointments. so xiao had no time to mentally prepare. instead he sat in his little office they provided each tutor with and waited for the other person to arrive. he played with his fingers anxiously before the person knocked and opened the door. xiao looked up and waved his hand shyly. however...the person seemed way too familiar.
