Zara
Will would never classify himself as an expert surfer by any means. He had simply enjoyed it as a kid, found that it became a bit of an escape of sorts. When he’d moved to Texas for university, there obviously weren’t many bodies of water he could continue surfing in. Will had missed the sport all those years and was very grateful to have it back now that he lived in Homestead again. He was rusty, but Will made a point to practice enough each week to get some of his skills back.
Today he’d spent a good two hours riding the waves. He’d let all of the stress from his clients out while on the water and it had been truly good for him. He felt lighter, happier than he had in days as he carried his surfboard back to his spot. Placing the board in the sand, Will flopped down on the towel he’d laid out for himself as he waited for Zara, letting the sun dry him. She had mentioned that she’d like to take Trey for a walk on the beach today and he had eagerly agreed to meet up there so she could drop Trey off.
After a few minutes, a wet nose greeted Will and pretty soon he was getting his face licked by his dog. Laughing as he sat up, Will immediately reached out to pet Trey in greeting. “Hey bud.” he said with a smile before standing up so he could greet the person holding Trey’s leash. “How’d he do? Did he spazz out on you too much?” he asked as he smiled apologetically at Zara.
