his arms are tight, nearly crushing, as they tuck around their waist. “jesus, eddie.” they aren’t one for comfort, but it feels like they’re obligated to do it, especially since...that. “hey, you’re okay. things are going to be okay.” it’s soft, almost motherly. is it obligation to care, or is it genuine? tegan isn’t sure about that. what they are sure about is that there’s a man whose lost his family and they have to comfort him, even if they aren’t sure if it’s a real feeling.
there’s a soft squeeze back before they pull away. “go ahead and come inside. i’ve made coffee. you...shouldn’t be driving. you need to calm down and process everything.” that’s a little too gruff, but they didn’t lie. “come on.”
