NECESSARY GUIDELINES.
some non-negotiable information about my portrayal of helena wayne. please read these especially before interacting. there is no summary, i want you to read all of this, please.
one. helena wayne and helena bertinelli are not the same person. they're two very distinct characters of dc comics, both rightfully the first of the huntress mantle. in terms of creation, helena wayne comes first, having debuted in 1977. they are not interchangeable. i find it irksome to call a panel of helena wayne helena bertinelli and vice versa, especially if it's clear which huntress is being talked about. if you can make the effort to distinguish between the robins and the flashes and the lanterns, then you can do this for two huntresses.
two. i like both huntresses equally, no comparison or competition. i write helena bertinelli at @helraising.
three. don't know who helena wayne is? check this out + i have some information on my previous blog, @doublecrossbow-archive. there's only so much i can explain before people simply don't read what's brought forth for them. i always try my best to read everything on your blog before interacting, and i think it's fair to ask for the same in return.
four. if you're not interested in plots based on multiverses or if you're going to treat helena wayne as another batkid, then kindly click off. respect for my characters is non-negotiable. i certainly don't treat any roleplayer's character so callously.
five. my portrayal of helena wayne is very much going to be personal. i try to stay true to the spirit of source material but i focus on the enjoyment of writing with my roleplay partners. this blog will be primarily based on the comics of new 52 and pre-crisis as well as the 'justice league: crisis on infinite earths' film trilogy, alongside other sources (comics from every other continuity) and personal headcanons.
six. helena does not consider the batfamily of any world other than earth 2, where she's from, her own family. she will not consider your catwoman or batman as her parents, for she's already grieving her real mom and dad. in general, she doesn't warm up to people easily, so it's likely that she'll consider your bat a family member even if they're technically related. also, keep in mind that she might not recognise your character beforehand. nevertheless, i am open to interacting with most folks.
* if you want to plot with me about having pre-established connections where helena knew an earth 2 variant of your muse, canon or made up by you, i'm always open to that.
seven. i will not ship batcest at all costs, that being said. i will not ship helena wayne with batcat and anybody related to them, even if they're from different worlds, it's still horrid. helena wayne is also a grown woman in her late twenties, so i will not ship her with people younger than 22.
eight. my helena wayne is homoflexible and demiromantic. this means that shipping will be focusing on chemistry; unless you do want a no-strings-attached commitment, helena will not feel anything for your muses. while i'll primarily ship with sapphic characters, i'll also be down to ship with male characters if i truly feel that they mesh well with helena.
nine. in my portrayal, helena is neurodivergent and struggles with emotional regulation, attachment, social interactions, and empathy. i am not naming this condition yet, it is under progress, but one of my main goals behind this portrayal is to write a hero character who chooses to do good and help people despite not being emotionally motivated to do so, as well as to focus on her internal conflict, since externally, helena wayne has led a stable life for the most part. i want to help combat the harmful stereotypes against how mentally struggling characters are often depicted as villains or killers. helena wayne is morally grey, as you'd expect from her mantle, but that is not in the same realm as being evil or irredeemable.
* additionally, she also deals with hypermobility spectrum disorder, the effects of which will reflect in my writing.
* furthermore, my helena wayne has a prominent facial scar (this one has canonical basis), and heavily tattooed on her arms and torso. but she often uses make-up or clothing to disguise these when needed.
ten. my portrayal and these rules will be prone to retcons and updates as i continue to write. thank you for reading thus far, i love you and have a good day.
