Azariel's godly parent (father) is Ilmater, the god of endurance, martyrdom, perseverance, and suffering. He has a lot of powers tied to both being a child of Ilmater & being a divine soul sorcerer (and barbarian).
One of few rumors spread about him that is true is that some of his divine power can temporarily shared. His divine power can temporarily (1 time per long rest) give someone advantage on attack roles OR give them ability to cast cure wounds. This power can be absorbed by pricking your finger with a freshly pruned feather and mixing your blood with Azariel's. If you want to temporarily get a power boost in a n.sfw way unprotected sex with Azariel has the same affect although it lasts longer (48 hours).
Azariel's blood has healing prosperities (much to his own detriment, of course). Rumor has it that if he is killed his blood can be used to resurrect someone - he is unsure if this rumor is true and DOESN'T want to find out
His blood can/would make a vampire tipsy
He tends to get sensory overload every once in a while bc he has built in radar for those who are being tortured / those going through immense suffering
He can see the ghosts of & communicate with the ghosts of martyrs
things about adam's redesigned appearance / characteristics / headcanons that maybe I will try to draw.
in the angelic hierarchy (choir) he is a Powers. it would make sense given he is in charge of the Exorcists and helps bring about the Exterminations, as Powers are tasked with having dominion over the 'evil forces' and keeping them in check. his Exorcists could all be the same rank as him, though he is still above them all with Lute being his close second (given she is his Lieutenant).
going off of that it makes sense in how adam acts (unnecessary sexism aside) as to why he feels so strongly about his role in Heaven and the Exterminations, and why he has next to zero respect for any of those who reside in Hell or are sympathetic to them.
as for a design, since imo Powers aren't horroresque like their upper tier counterparts he has a more 'human' appearance. at least in regards to his body. his face is still the one we see in the show, but I imagine his robes are more elaborate but also made in a way that he could fight easier. perhaps something like what the Romans wore, or those paintings of the Archangel Michael with his armor.
perhaps he has an additional set of eyes, bringing his eye count to four in total. said eyes are at the sides of his head or perhaps somewhere less noticable. something that would give him a good advantage if he were a more strategic fighter.
he knows how to fight with other weapons and is quite proficient with them, likely learning from Michael himself but due to his nature he prefers using his powers over something that could give him an extra advantage. it explains why when we see him fight with his guitar he weilds it like a sword or an axe, and he has power behind his swings.
will add more but this is what I've come up with that I've been mulling over.
random jayce headcanons i have that i may expand on later but for now exist in nebulous form:
jayce has high-functioning anxiety disorder. aka, the bravado you see? absolutely 100% a mask. he masks extremely well, to the point very few actually catch onto the fact he has anxiety, and that’s generally if he’s pushed himself to the point of being unable to hide a panic attack.
aka, you bet your bottom dollar that after they cracked hextech and his research was approved he couldn’t tell if he was excited or terrified
this is why he tends to seek validation from others and can be lead down paths that are about 60/40 his intent to the influence of others. ultimately, he is the one who makes the choices... but often at the insistence or permission of others.
i’ll likely expand on these with the next round of arcane episodes but YEAH anxiety disorder.
also he’s a chaotic bisexual, i do not make the rules.
POST ARCANE BECAUSE AAAA:
it’s so apparent that jayce doesn’t have the constitution for war and, while he desperately wants to do something to stop forces brutalising the people he both a) doesn’t have the stomach ( literally ) for it and b) is so green in the political sphere he either does too little or oversteps his reach.
like kudos to the writing team for having him accept he’s in no position to oversee people as a scientist and not have that be an inciting incident for people thinking he’s perfect for the role??? thank god.
likewise him fully accepting he doesn’t know anything about zaun and yet, even though he had his moments falling back on old prejudices, allows himself a place to be taught otherwise. he puts his trust in viktor and allows himself to be that mouthpiece as someone in a position of power. also knowing full well he could lose that? and he does it anyway?
also FUCK that kid is going to sit with him for a long time. i think jayce could have stomached the rage-addled shimmer enforcers, but the child? how do you separate yourself from that; how do you justify it? you don’t. he killed that child. and his face and his gaps were immediately burned into his mind. every time jayce has a panic attack he’ll see that child and immediately beat himself up some more - because at least he isn’t dead. he’s not a child whose life was snuffed out before it even began; who grew up in a poisoned underground he, maliciously or not, turned a blind eye to.
and the fact he just had to leave him there. he’ll have nightmares about a boy he didn’t know. he couldn’t bring him to his parents. he couldn’t do... anything.
like his whole moral compass was about his technology bettering the people but all it did was make piltover stronger and zaun suffer under silco’s misguided ideals. proxy deaths turned real the moment he made his hammer.
which is exactly why he was willing to offer terms he wasn’t even sure people could agree to. use jinx, the woman who killed so many, as a scapegoat for silco’s new leadership; instil trade, shared politics and unity; and try to repair the rift as much as he could. work with viktor to create new technology outside of hextech.
i’m not saying it was the best way to go about it but, in jayce’s mind at least, he’s trying. for all his flaws, for all his inaction and privilege, he’s using what means he has in his arsenal to try and make a change.
madoka is that type of person who while watching some show likes every character because she knows that show wouldn't be the same without that character. oh and also she's very emotional and deep in her heart she's afraid about that character will be sad if he would know that she dislikes him
