fitz is the superstitious one, where jemma is the practical one, though she does have a few superstitions and "lucky traditions" that she keeps to herself. she and fitz argue about this a LOT, in the way we see them bicker ( which is why he quickly adds ‘but it’s science’, because now isn’t the time for him to get into it with jemma ). in this vein, the horseshoe necklace she wears ( in the first episode ) was a gift from fitz after their first heated discussion on the topic, and she wears it as a compromise, but also as a lucky charm, though it doesn't come from the horseshoe itself, but from the fact her best friend gave it to her.
