kill me if anyone's done smth similar but i want a verse/au where pego goes slowly blind from head trauma bc when shido had him arrested one of the officers hit him in the head so hard it caused permanent damage to the muscles in his eyes. he doesn't go pitch black blind but everything (unless theyre like an inch in front of him) becomes one big blob of colors and he's sensitive to light. he still gets probation but instead of awakening to arsene the typical way he awakens to him by himself and also the third eye which he uses to see and sense people's emotions. being able to only really see what people are feeling (and their arcanas of course) in an ocean of blues naturally makes him emphatetic and want to help when he sees how many problems people actually have. he becomes a solo phantom thief with morgana as his partner/seeing eye cat (i know) when he meets him but instead of fucking up society they just wanna make ppl's lives suck less. make no mistake tho he can still be especially manipulative and petty with his emotion sensing.

headcanon batch !! 01. starting off with one that sounds shitpost-y but i swear i actually mean it. morgana plays fortnite. i'm sorry he just does. he flosses too. 02. there was a short period of time when goro found himself obsessed with a featherman gacha game, in which he poured like 5000 yen into it in the span of the week trying to get a special white day variation of blue swan from an event and then when he got it he immediately screenshoted it and made it his phone wallpaper. 03. ren is the biggest slut for holiday decorating. november 1st? no sir, that's christmas eve to the 53rd power. august 1st? my dear hand him the fake cobwebs so he can string them all over the foyer. he is THAT neighbor, yes. 04. because the velvet room is a coliseum in this au, executions work a little different. sure, a guillotine still works in an ancient roman setting to an extent - but what about locking the two personas in the field and making them battle to the death? also fusion accidents happen when they try to team up and turn on lavenza so she just pulls out her chainsaw lol. 05. idk if i've made this clear enough, but ren sees yaldabaoth as a substitute for a father figure. his loyalty reaches past just him granting his wish in that he's the first conscious being in years to treat him with the sort of kindness and guidance a father would. so yes, he is blindly devoted to yaldy but he is for a reason. he may seem like a normal guy but once he starts talking abt his metal god dad he sounds like a crazy evangelical dude. 06. this said, though lavenza is corrupted by yaldabaoth and brainwashed into perceiving him as her master in this au, she still has a softspot for ren (and most other versions of him for that matter) and though she doesn't think about it, her loyalties lie with him before yaldabaoth. if he were to turn so would she given he doesn't use his powers to interfere with her mind any further.

if there's one thing i love it's turning jokes into legitimate hcs so hc that ren (and maybe morgana) is super extra in his head when he goes shopping he's just like "okay i've infiltrated the dolar store" and then the dumbass fucking goes to the cashier with a bag of chips and is like " this treasure is MINE now" and then he gives them the card and it gets declined

hell yeah i did dude!!headcanons | acceptingAs any Gen Z kid that had access to T.V in their childhood, Ren got to witness the cinematic genius that was Spongebob Squarepants. Despite it's weirdness and difference from the humor he was used to, the Japanese dub of the show brought him great joy - so much so that for a short period of time when he was 6, he was led to believe that marine life really did speak to each other and could understand human speech. This idea was shattered upon him embarrassing himself on a school trip to an aquarium in one of the closer urban cities, when he tried to have a conversation with a starfish, leading his classmates to giggle at him and (in good mannered fun) call him ❝ Fish Whisperer ❞ for the rest of the year.

i haven't posted any headcanons yet so here's a few random ones!

- ren is a stress cleaner. half of it comes from the fact that changing how a room looks makes him feel more in control and the other half comes from the fact that it helps him destress and disassociate. he had a maid once since he could afford it, but he ended up stress cleaning so often that she did really little to no work. she ended up feeling bad about being payed for doing nothing so she resigned.

- goro sometimes sleeps with the tv on low because he's gotten used to falling asleep with white noise in his younger years + the light helps with his darkness problem

- despite his love for sushi, morgana is actually very fond of and knowledgeable of fish! he researches them and usually throws back the fish he catches when he goes fishing. he's particularly fond of beta fish and clownfish!
