@universemerging sent ! [URGENT] for stanru!
[ URGENT ] : your muse kisses my muse passionately, believing it to be their last chance to do so.
The students really shouldn’t be a part of this, but it was all hands on deck. That was how it was explained to him. So he and his class had donned their costumes and filed out with the other hero students. Anxiety filled the air as instructions were given and groups were formed.
He was going to be up front, and mostly on his own. Since he’s basically seven people in one so he doesn’t really need any assistance, just a pro hero to keep an eye on him. The rest of his class, and the other classes as well were going to be going other places, much to his absolute terror. He didn’t want to be apart from them, especially not one girl in particular.
He sees her, huddled near her sibling. He shouldn’t interrupt but he has to. He has to leave soon, head out towards the front lines. So he forces his wobbly legs to go forward. He walks up to her and places his hand on her shoulder.
“Ruru.” He says, trying to sound firm but his voice betrays him. “Can I speak to you for a second?” So formal, needlessly so. He takes her gloved hand in his, nods shakily to Quinn, and he leads her off, away from everyone else. “I have to leave soon, with the front line group.” He’s trying to keep his voice level and his eyes dry, but they feel very hot as tears start to form. “I...There’s so much in my head.” He mumbles, rubbing his forehead, “All in Russian, Japanese, English, even... I can’t get it all straight.”
He’s shorter then her. Would he always be? If he died today he’d always be shorter than her. He’s never minded, he likes looking up to her. “You...” He starts, raising a hand and brushing his knuckles against her cheek, “Are...So special. To me. And so beautiful, I hope you know that.” He swallows hard, his hand fully cupping her cheek now. “I have never met anyone like you. No one has ever made me feel so strong and so happy and so... Normal... In all my life. I am so thankful to have you in my life. I have been so lucky...”
He can see his pro hero partner looking his way, gesturing. He has to speed this up, but he can’t, not when this could be his last moments with the girl he’s been steadily falling for. He tries to find the words, but they’re all in Russian. He can’t get them out, so action instead must come forward. The hand on her face remains, but he closes the gap between the pair. He’s so unfamiliar with such actions but he seems to know exactly what he’s doing as he holds her close to him, his hand on her cheek and the other resting on her waist.
He doesn’t want to leave, or let her go. He wants to stay in the bliss of kissing her as long as he can. But he knows it isn’t possible, not with a war before them. His fingers curl into the fabric of her costume as the kiss breaks and he rests his forehead against hers. He can’t stop the tears from falling now. He’s scared. Scared of dying, but he’s almost more scared of coming home to find out that she had perished. He takes a slow, shaking breath as he draws back, planting one last gentle kiss to her lips before stepping away. “Please don’t forget how special you are. To me and to everyone else.” A three word phrase sits on his tongue but he swallows it. If he lives, then he’ll tell her.
Something- no, someone to live for.
“Goodbye.” He says, the strain in his voice is obvious. The hand on her waist had moved to take her hand, and that’s all that connects them now. He gives it a final squeeze before he turns, and is off running to his Pro companion to head out for what could very possibly be his end.
