…all of these are just comforting myths, fables to reinforce cultural power structures.

one thing i really love about blades is that it doesn’t hold back on its criticism of wealth disparity and the role of organised religion in upholding that. and art has always been used to reflect the living conditions and history of the people living in a certain time. themes present in blades of light and shadow are very much reminiscent of real history and still ring true today. february is philippine art month. i’ve used my own pictures for this edit; all pieces of art used here are photos i personally took at the philippine national museum, december 2019.
