[ okay so. i sort of forgot the first thing i had to tell you. oops. buT THE DOGGY THING YES. okay so. i figured out what year copernicus would have died, bc lbr, no dog can last thirty years, right? so. the average lifespan of a sheepdog is approx. 10-12 years, so, according to my calculations, copernicus would've died in 1967, so either he had another dog between copernicus and einie, or he just waited another 8 years or so before he got him. i'm supposing that einie's around six or seven ]
((Lol s’okay I do that too.
That’s pretty neat! (Well dogs dying isn’t neat it’s awful but yknow)
I would probably agree with you as far as Einie’s age goes. And I think there probably would have been another dog in between… Given the fact that otherwise Doc’s pretty much entirely alone, dangit he needs somebody to talk to especially when Marty isn’t in the equation, plus he has something of a habit of using his pets as the subjects of mostly harmless tests (Additionally, speaking as a person who has owned at least one dog throughout their entire life, the thought of NOT having one around is just really weird). I’d reckon he probably makes sure there’s a small overlap between different ones, to make the transition easier for him as well as having the younger pup picking up on the routines of the older to be more comfortable in the environment.
Do you think there’s any correlation between the muse we have and the amount of analysis we do about this kind of stuff?))
