KANETA SHO as ISHIDO SHU ULTRAMAN ARC ⟡ Episode 1
i should reread hxh
I'm going to heroes cc to see misha but the other actors who'll be there are from shows i wasn't normal about as a teen tvd included. But i never finished watching it so
should i catch up on the last 2 seasons of vampire diaries before i go to heroes cc or is it not worth it?
yes
no
yes tell me all about Morro!
I'm glad you asked!
By the way, this is not character bashing! This is an AU, first and foremost!
Morro is an orphaned boy who raised himself during troubling times of Ninjago. Lord Garmadon actually tried to take over the city when he stole two of the golden weapons, deciding it was smart to just hold 2 until he has the power to hold the others. His parents felt overbeared with having to care for a son so they abandoned him just so they won't pay additional money for child support. Great job.
During those decades of hardship, he had to rely on his powers of wind (awakened out of necessity) and his own skills to steal and find a good home for the temporary. He became bitter towards Garmadon, who was the reason why he is in the predicament in the first place, and eventually Wu and his group of ninja for only sweeping in when there's an external force.
He meets the ninjas properly after becoming the Hypnobrai's first human captive. He'd been seeking shelter in the Frozen Plains (for the same reason as whatever Lloyd is doing there) before accidentally opening the Serpentine tomb and falling. Unlike Lloyd he unfortunately didn't get the upper hand, and while he wasn't hypnotized, he was taken captive.
He was a very snarky and brash captive at that. Usually sassing the orders of the Hypnobrai, sarcastic and witty responses that usually pisses them off too, every single time they try to provoke him. The ninja, specifically Lloyd, sighted him glaring at Skales who was the leader atp, and making some responses that, to Lloyd, sounded way too much like Kai. So Morro was doomed to be his incarnation from the start.
When the Serpentine were distracted by the ninja coming to ruin their day, Morro used this distraction as a way to break free from his chains using his wind. This was observed by Wu, who wanted another ninja either to train or to fix the broken hole in his heart about what happened to Kai. It's not clear so I'll let you make assumptions yourself.
Wu asked whether or not he wanted to stay with them. Morro was a little skeptical and suspicious, because he still dislikes them, but he's never actually seen their unmasked faces. Seeing how shockingly young they were, he obliges, only looking for a home. He didn't think he'd be in a nightmare zone when they all seemed so nice.
However, despite this perceived cordiality, the group without Kai has a large hole, and they aren't very accepting to new members, like they were in S4. They think no one can fill the hole Kai left which is why they always deny every elemental master that Wu tries to petition as a student. The only reason they can accept Morro is because of a matter of pity and how they relate with the fact he didn't have any family. It got a little worse when Morro started showing... 'Kai-esque' traits.
He also wears Kai's old red gi, simply because of these choices, I want you to choose them yourself: either they didn't THINK of making a new gi, or Wu insisted he become the Kai they wanted to have. It didn't work quite well, if that's what Wu is expecting. It made his students act as if Morro really IS replacing their team member, and they don't like that concept.
Oh also Morro has a scar on his lips. He got them from fighting tons of Serpentine to save lloyd, which is the ONLY time Lloyd has ever seen them as anyone else but Kai's replacement. He couldn't even speak properly when he was healing the injuries he sustained. He also looks like a Christmas tree when you think about it.
Morro's personality in this AU is VERY toned down from his own personality in the canon material. While he is still embittered and angry and impulsive, he keeps it under the wraps in the hopes of never being compared to Kai. It fails LOADS of times, because they lack brain to mouth filter. If he acts like Kai they comment on it, if he doesn't they'd take it personally. There is no winning when it comes to being yourself. It's one of the reasons why he has not discovered his true potential yet, because he couldn't find what side of himself he should accept.
He's also a little more polite and courteous, acting like a model student that'd put Lloyd to shame. But he's not innocent either; think like he's Shinobu Kocho from Demon Slayer, the way he hides his anger until it boils over and he snaps. And I have the BIGGEST plan for when he snaps :))))
His relationships with the others boil down to: at best, they don't acknowledge him other than team stuff, and at worst, they'd be so cold to him he might be the Elemental Master of Ice. His 'closest' relationships would be Cole and Zane, who think seeing him as a replacement only is messed up and tries talking to him, but Morro just went into that 'everyone hates me' mentality. Look what you did to the boy. "Middle" will be Wu and Jay, because Morro can see Wu sees him as Kai, and Jay because... He's Jay. His coldest relationship would be with Lloyd and Nya, and for understandable reasons: Kai is Nya's brother, and Lloyd blames himself for his death because of the Green Ninja Prophecy, same old song
He also doesn't go by 'Morro Wu' and goes by his old family name, 'Morro Ehecatl' because he still feels uncomfortable being associated with his teacher. He didn't have the familial bonding Morro has himself because none wants to let him in. I don't think they'll be a family in this AU either.
But Wu DOES love him, he just can't understand the treatment he's enduring and how Wu's seemingly patronizing speeches is making things worse. He feels like he was just an outsider, and literally calls it worse than being possessed by Kai. (A whole other post. I'M MAKING IT WHEN I'M FREE I SWEAR) Morro finds himself unable to socialize with his teammates, giving up when he's found out they didn't want to spend time with him.
Morro isn't perfect either. Sometimes he breaks things to provoke them, like some kind of kid that wants attention. He does get the brief, short-lived attention he wanted, but it's negative and it makes him feel more insignificant than ever.
Anyways he was pretty mad that no one even thinks of condemning Kai because actions have consequences, and while everyone KNOWS what he did was wrong, they were also very glad he's back. Not only is ghost Kai roaming around free, but Morro, who definitely has some emotional damage during the whole thing, has his testimony left on deaf ears. Made him believe that no matter what happens they will ALWAYS go to Kai and honestly? He's kind of done with the whole thing. As much as he appreciates the fame and appreciation of saving the world a lot (his fame and fans the reason he thinks he can bear living with them) he doesn't think he can tolerate them anymore.
But it seems like the others must have remembered that they had a sixth member of their team! After Kai told them to suck it up and apologize and treat Morro like a human being, that's when they felt what they did was wrong. But, no matter how much they tried bridging the gap, Morro is SO DONE with their BS and tells them he has to take a break. They can't say no. Zane and Cole were both like "I told you so" when he leaves.
Sorry this took like weeks to type I keep trying to remember If I have details I've missed or not, and Morro’s character as well. Just so you know he does snap, and, it isn't really pretty. Does the Sons of Garmadon ring a bell? That's a whole other post for sure!
That last post made me think, it’s a good thing Lambert was part of the last generation of witchers to be trained at Kaer Morhen because if he’d seen more younglings being brought to the keep like lambs to the slaughter, I’m not sure he wouldn’t have died trying to defend them or to break them free if he had set his mind to it
ah yes, i’m very good at planning things
I hope it’s brought up in volume 2 how those fuckers stood Lucas up and crushed his heart instead of sweeping it under the rug like it’s no big deal
