#last spring i climbed a tree and got stuck in it for like 10-15 minutes. maybe 20 #i couldn’t figure out how to get down without falling #(this was a stupid thing to do in the first place but i will do more things like this)#and a friend was like. waiting on me to get out of the tree like at one point we were discussing like. how breakable my legs are #which was so embarrassing but i was finding it funny in a way i think was annoying (jester-like) of me #and i just leapt down and he ground running #*hit #after getting myself as low as possible as i could confidently get #and then got a crazy adrenaline high from the whole thing #and then was real squirrelly #for the next 15 minutes

tbh when it comes to america's founding fathers and revolution etc i like to use the term "mythology/mythos" because even tho it clearly HAPPENED i don't think non americans understand how it is generally mythos here. we retell the events like myth almost. it really feels like an invocation of that. i do think that is why i am not as harsh on hamilton as others. which is not to say that it doesn't have an issue with being too forgiving. but i do understand that the point of it is more about engaging with the mythos of these events and how modern americans of color can relate to that mythos. (Frankly I think a much more astute criticism is that it doesn't correctly capture how POC would relate to that mythos? but my ability to theorize on that only can go so far because of my whiteness).
