✎ london clutches a stack of books close to her chest because there are far too many to fit inside her bag. she nearly trips on her own foot as she makes her way down to the library, the sun an unwelcome bother to her eyes, and she barely makes it up the steps and through the door without sunspots completely interrupting her vision. 

she drops the books down onto the counter with a dull thud, and sighs when the picture of dorian gray topples to the ground off the top of the stack. london groans as she picks it up, but stops when she spots a familiar face, currently scanning through another person’s loans.

“oh! hey jaeh--” a distant shh! cuts her off from somewhere behind her because, yes, this is a library, and no, you can’t be using your outside voice. but it seems to have caught the librarian’s attention anyway. she looks at jaehyuk and grins. “hey,” she whispers instead, sliding the books into the returns chute. 

london waits for jaehyuk to finish, fingers running along the spines of this week’s newest additions to the library’s already extensive collection of books, and she’s just read the title of the latest david baldacci when there’s a finger poking her cheek. she barely manages to stop herself from yelping in surprise, eyes widening before they narrow at the sight of jaehyuk trying to hold in laughter. london sticks her tongue out before she leans in to whisper in his ear. 

“first to laugh loses?”
