He was a dimensionally displaced, amnesiac super-soldier trained to be an assassin by a Russian organisation previously believed to be a ghost story, and Bucky could easily say that he was the most normal thing he had experience with in about twenty years. That being said, there was always something novel around the corner, and he’d spent the past five minutes after lowering his gun watching as three Raft escapees seemingly beat themselves up – and then it hit him.
Ant Man and the Wasp. They had been there, in the final battle. When the woman returned to her normal size, leaving the bad guys sprawled out over the pavement, Bucky almost let out a sigh of relief, but something held him back. “You probably don’t know me,” Bucky prefaced, because he was pretty sure the other Bucky was in a freezer in Wakanda, “but we’re on the same side.”

‘ not as bad as it looks. ’ and, honestly, she’d prefer she didn’t look. her lip’s busted open, a bruise already starting to swell under her eye. nothing broken. nothing permanent. no loose teeth. looks like a barfight that left the bar; the reality’s worse, but the threat’s contained and out of sight. all that’s left is nadia and the blood that drips from her nose and onto the cement, mixing with an old puddle.
‘ unless you wanna take me home and play nurse. ’
With Obama as the president, me and everybody I know, I think we felt very safe and protected, felt like we were being viewed the way we wanted to be viewed, in terms of the world. So there wasn’t as much to say except, like, look how far we’ve come and it’s getting better, getting even better. I feel like there was quite a shift.
