Days had passed since Michael had rejected Jacky.
Those days might as well have been a whole other lifetime for the werewolf. Jacky had been replaying it again and again in his head… he’d done his best. He fought for Michael. Begged for him… even went as far as letting him know that he wouldn’t take another mate in this lifetime. He couldn’t. The thought alone of taking a mate that wasn’t Michael was enough to make Jacky sick to his stomach.
Even then, it still hadn’t been enough…
The days that followed were a blur. Jacky had cried every night from it, so much that he wasn’t even sure how he was still able to. He’d gotten no sleep the night after his rejection, and went to the cafe the following day looking and feeling miserable. His manager had some mercy on him and sent him home that day, and Jacky called in sick the day after that (which he never did.)
Today, Jacky had a headache so bad he could feel the throbbing through his ears, and he still had barely slept. As heartbroken as he was, though, he knew he still needed to eat and leave his apartment for a little bit. He’d manage to get through a trip to the convenience store near his building with little conversation with anyone else, but as he was leaving the building, he was approached by a couple of people. Lost in his thoughts, he had barely heard them trying to say anything to him. It wasn’t until one of them grabbed him by the shoulder that he was finally pulled out of his trance. “Hey..! Let me go!” He ground out, not knowing if anyone around him saw what was happening.
