ok, since Danila is in the Vikings trailer, lemme tell you what I’ve been up to lately.

basically i signed up for a football-for-charity event and was raising money for a charity that helps victims of sexual violence get psychological and legal support

 out team raised about $1,5K and all together the participants raised about $40K

 then there was the whole tournament thing and the winners played against a celebrity team which among other people had Kozlovsky

we won the silver however (legit, guys, we played football and ran to the second place, I mean.. whut)

it was cold as fcuk the whole day, it basically started snowing mid-game, then raining, then snowing again

so we have a legit video of danila-that-guy-from-the-new-season-of-vikings giving out medals to our team saying “sorry, it’s so cold i can’t feel my hands”

so that was like... 2 weeks ago, and now i’m tuning in and see the whole “the Rus are coming” hype and i’m just sitting here like... wow that’s surreal

Heyyyy, how are you all? I kind of resurfaced, so I feel like I need to update you on Things and Stuff, what’s new, what changed and whatever.

the rapunzel hair you all loved so much is now shoulder length or shorter, because fuck it

i am in my second year of learning swedish and it’s a happy place

i did actually go to sweden for... 5 days in may, and those were easily the best 5 days of my life

i did also go to montenegro and albania, which are fantastically impressive for many-a-reason

on smaller scale: went to a short course on film directing and a bit of stage fencing, carried very little out of both, but enjoyed nonetheless

FIFA 2018 happened in Moscow and it was a STORM. it’s only october but i’m already feeling so nostalgic, the city was full of love and joy, i swear it was magic

(due to fifa and learning swedish accidentally went into a bit of an ibrahimovic phase, which you’re about to discover)

also did a free hugs flashmob, and rekindled my faith in humanity

danced a lot

wrote quite a healthy amount of Stuff

it’s like we’re living in the era when people already forgot Ingourious Basterds and one of the best quotes in cinema history

that’s a movie which actually had a character who learned a language because he wanted to watch movies in it, i mean, ffs

i refuse to believe we forgot this golden era

SO, we went to see Deadpool 2

and after the movie, in the safe place that a public toilet is supposed to be

someone yelled suddenly in the squeakiest of voices

“WAIT, WAS THAT THANOS?!?!?!?”

I mean

imagine being in the midst of.... bodily... fluids... disposal and having that divine knowledge just dawn on you so hard that you have to inform the rest of the cubicles

I’d like to add to the post about Zemo’s weird russian that I put zero blame on Daniel and Sebastian here because on a production that’s that huge one should be able to hire a fucking language consultant.

They both speak more than one language and have pronunciation range which is a gift to a director.

Managing to fail language imitation when you have an actor who speaks, what, 4 languages fluently? That is a disaster.

Which is especially obvious when he starts of with beautifully clearly pronounced “zhelaniye” (“longing”). Normally an english-speaking person would cram that into “zh’lanie”. Also when he says the same words earlier in the movie they are all clearer.

So. Someone. Did not. Consult. Very. Well.

I forgot to inform you that when you get off the plane at the Arlanda airport literally the first ad you see is a giant picture of Joel Kinnaman and you’re like “You did not.”

And then you go into the hall to wait for your taxi and there’s a gallery of famous swedish people with “Welcome to my hometown” written above the pictures.

And I swear, the portrait of Stellan Skarsgård welcoming me to his hometown is the scariest shit I’ve seen in my life.

Which gets better when your guide asks if you’ve seen The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo.

i looked up sokovia’s assumed geography and was forced to see americans mix up “balkan” and “baltic”

Oh my god I just watched an interview with SebStan in Romanian (to check if I’m bullshitting you about him being able to roll the “r”s) and I never realized that “yes” in Romanian is the same as in Russian.

And he was just speaking in a language I do not understand at all and suddenly went “Yeah yeah yeah...” in what sounded exactly like my mother tongue and it was the eeriest shit ever.
