The only advice I can give for tomorrow morning is to remember the reality of the kinda sucky situation we’ve been stuck with. There are a lot of people really wanting not a lot of housing. Good luck and stay positive, but do not set your expectations too high. Don’t let failing to get a house get you down, and don’t lash out at other people or guilt trip those who’ve had better fortune, please!

ahhhh did the scary thing and sent my basically absentee landlord a summary of work that needs to be done - currently we don't have smoke or carbon monoxide detectors, one of the windows into my room doesn't lock, the lights in the kitchen go out when it's humid, etc. also my blinds are all busted from the previous tenant and my walls are stained (also from the previous tenant) and none of the doors inside the house have locks (including my room and the washrooms) so it's like....bruh. I've also met him in person only one time for literally under a minute while he was picking up the lease and he doesn't do any of the things landlords are supposed to do but for some reason all my housemates are cool with that/don't believe it's his responsibility??? like my one housemate literally bought a lawnmower with her own money and has been mowing the grass, but that's actually the landlord's responsibility. also we all had to pay an illegal ass security deposit in case of damages, but this dude clearly doesn't fuckin do anything to repair damages since this place is busted tf up. like ugggh okay not trying to complain too hard here because my rent rn is pretty frickin good (but that's partially because an extra girl moved into her boyfriends room and we're all splitting rent equally so it went down when she arrived) but I don't think it's too much to ask that the landlord do his job. he's had it way too easy with my housemates who have left him break the law/take advantage, but even if they don't wanna say shit someone should. this impacts me too, you know? I don't want to die in a fire or from carbon monoxide poisoning because my housemates were trying to be chill tenants.

Well... it only took 3 hours, but I was able to get a room for Fanime! It was way more of a hassle then I thought it would be. D: But it will be worth it. :D
