Putting this under a cut for anyone who hasn’t seen umbrella academy or particularly likes allison/luther (you probably don’t want to read this):
In the audio montage (while she is driving to find Vanya) of the things Allison has gotten with her power there were a lot of different things she had obviously used it for throughout her life (acting jobs, popularity, etc), but the last one we hear was “I heard a rumor that you love me”. Now, this may have been her ex, or really anyone from her past, but the theory I read was talking about Luther’s fixation with what he thinks is best for Allison at certain points in the narrative (disregarding her wishes, because shocker, he’s following his father’s path the most of all of them). And what if that stems from younger Allison, with no idea of what the impact would be, using her power on him? She may have tried to undo it, or even succeeded to an extent, but what would that do to her view of their relationship (maybe even push her to leave?) and how would that change how they react to each other?
It’s unlikely, given the way they’re trying to set up their relationship in the show, but I thought it would be a cool twist. Because who would know what they might have been if, in this theoretical world, a younger, unsure Allison had tried to use her power to keep them together forever?
Mostly I think it would explain some of Luther’s irrationality wrt Allison, but I recognize that’s because I just wasn’t really supposed to like him very much (and hey, success! I didn’t like him!)
