So, does anyone remember that dragon mini-arc? Because I'm having Thoughts about its implications.
I've wanted to write a crack fic where Olruggio finds out about the girls facing the dragon for a long time, because Qifrey never even mentions that happening and I thought that one of the girls randomly bringing the topic up in an offhanded 'remember the time we put a dragon to sleep?' kind of way while Olruggio is horrified in the background would be hilarious
But when I started actually thinking about it, I realised that Olruggio - who might have been involved in some sort of beast attack, who is specifically triggered when told to kill something, whose mentor?/relative? seems to be conspicuously missing in the aftermath of Noz even though baby Oru's bawling his eyes out and has to be consoled by strangers - of all people, might not react well on hearing that the girls, while being completely isolated from their teacher on what was supposed to be a quick and completely safe trip, had to spend a whole day fending off a fucking dragon, no matter how cute and effective their solution was in the end. And that maybe Qifrey left out that information on purpose.
Reading further into this, it can really add more to Qifrey's duality as well. On one hand, he really didn't want Olruggio to freak out by bringing up such a sensitive topic when he's already stressed. On the other hand, Olruggio is already not impressed about Coco's situation, and maybe learning about just how much danger the kids were in so recently, and especially a threat that might be a trigger to his own trauma, could push him even further against it. And considering that it happened because Coco was the one who went chasing after a Brimhat in the first place...
His motives being a mix of both definitely makes it very interesting.
And thus my crack fic idea has descended into angst.
