Happy New Year!

12/31/2015 - Okay... so it’s not the New Year for me just yet. But I know it is for some of you so I wanted to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you have a great one and that your new year is filled with a lot of productivity and good fortune in everything you do!

I’ve decided that I shall make a short list of what I’d like to accomplish in the New Year.

Study really hard so I can get my Medical Billing Certificate by June.

Practice Japanese at least five days a week to improve my reading skills.

Study Latin daily to improve in all areas, i.e. reading, writing, speaking, etc.

Pick up ASL again and relearn what I used to know a few years ago.

Practice speaking in Spanish more.

Begin to eat healthy again and workout at least five times a week.

Read more classics.

I used to do a lot of these already but the last few months of 2015, I kinda fell out of the habit. I hope to pick them back up again. Especially the working out five times a week bit. I’ve been really bad when it comes to that. XP

And that’s it! I am keeping it to a very attainable list. I know myself so I don’t want to overwhelm myself with too much to do... even though I really want to study Italian and French as well. XD But I figured this is good enough~

I just saw this episode of a show I discovered called Begin Japanology. It’s actually a very informative show about Japan and its culture. The episode I saw focused on the town of Jinbouchou (or Jimbocho as they say in the episode) in Chiyoda, Tokyo. If you know about the many sites of Japan or if you are a bibliophile, then you may already be familiar with this town as being the center of Tokyo’s used-books industry. If not, then this episode goes into detail about how the town came to be and its history.

I actually learned quite a bit from watching it and came to learn about a few booksellers. Furusawa, one of the booksellers, really stole my heart with his passion for used books. I am a huge reader and I love books. I hope to have an entire library full of all of my favorite books so listening to him speak really made my heart soar.

If you have any interest in Japan or if you just love books, I highly recommend you watch Begin Japanology. I know I am going to watch all of the episodes they have available. I’m looking forward to seeing more and learning more from this show.
